They both have good programming in my opinion. Which channel do you prefer: HBO or Showtime?

Showtime - now that it's Dexter, Weeds and the Big C.

HBO - no Sopranos anymore , but I do love Big Love.

For a while, we got those channels at no extra charge, I really enjoyed Showtime. I got hooked on Nurse Jackie and Weeds. Too bad the "free preview" is over with....

Right now for me, it's HBO. Boardwalk Empire and Bored To Death have my attention. Hopefully next year they bring back the Ricky Gervais Show.

we get Showtime right now for a few months, we don't get HBO. My husband is more into the movie channels than I am.

Right now I say Showtime because of Dexter, Weeds and the Big C. And Californication and Nurse Jackie and The United States of Tara. But....I love Boardwalk Empire. And this winter HBO will have Big Love and GAME OF THRONES!!! I can't decide. I only subscribe to Showtime, though.

Hmmm. They're kind of equal in my opinion. But if I had to pick, I'd say Showtime because that has one more show that we watch than HBO.

I'll say HBO. I finally started watching it when Boardwalk Empire came on and I've never watched Showtime.
