AngelDream 16 Report post Posted October 9, 2010 We have 2 near here...Lake Hamilton and Lake Ouachita. Ouachita is the prettiest one, has 1000 mile shoreline and is super clear, people from all over the US come to visit and see it. I enjoy swimming and fishing there. SingsInFrench 262 Report post Posted October 9, 2010 I'm torn between Lake Superior (where we sprinkled Mom's ashes) and Turtle Lake (the lake I live on). I love them both. On Turtle Lake we swim, canoe, and fish. On Lake Superior we walk the shoreline, hunt for agates, and camp nearby.
Softanimal 7 Report post Posted October 9, 2010 The only "lake" around here is actually a big pond. You can walk around it and it will usually take a whole day to get through the woods around it.
Magnolia 171 Report post Posted October 9, 2010 I absolutely love mountain lakes. Lake Tahoe is my favorite, but there are lots of smaller lakes near LT that are beautiful, too. Love the hiking around there, and when I visit my sister and her family up there we take their canoe out. It's so fun.
The Wild One, Forever 2 Report post Posted October 9, 2010 Lake Powell, it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been!
somewheredowntheroad 20 Report post Posted October 9, 2010 Lake Maggiore - I like to sit on the shore and drink wine and eat cheese. Sometimes I like to rent a paddle boat and paddle around. Haven't been there in awhile, wish I could go back.
Refugee 7 Report post Posted October 9, 2010 I love Lake Tahoe and Lake Nacimiento. Lake Tahoe for the beauty and to just admire and Lake Nacimiento for water skiing. That was a long time ago, but I think if I wanted to, I could go for another whirl one day.
agirl 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2010 Lake Tahoe. It's beautiful, even in the winter with all the snow. We love to go there to swim [it's freezing] and drive around the whole lake. There's also a great pizza place that we stop at.
Echosoftom 3 Report post Posted October 10, 2010 My favorite is Crater Lake in Oregon. I just love to go there and take in the scenery. It's absolutely breathtaking! It's the deepest lake that is completely in the U.S. and it's one of the most pristine lakes.
