Rosanne Cash gets personal in L.A.

Recommended Posts

Rosanne Cash has just a few more appearances in which she combines reading from her memoirs and a performance of songs from throughout her career.

Cash appeared Tuesday morning (9/5) at the jam-packed Los Angeles offices of Go Music, the film and TV music supervision company run by Gary Calamar ("True Blood," "Dexter"), where she did a shortened version of the show she was scheduled to give at the Grammy Museum that evening.

Cash began the reading with a passage about a 1990 incident in which her mother had sent her some of her old schoolwork. A line in an essay on metaphors and similes, written when she was 12, became the song "Sleeping in Paris."

Accompanied by John Leventhal, she performed "Paris"; two tracks from her "Black Cadillac" album; "Motherless Children" from her recent award-winning "The List"; and her first hit, "Seven Year Ache."

Cash's itinerary is below; unless otherwise noted, dates are for full-band concerts.
