Do you prefer earbuds or headphones?

Headphones.. can't stand earbuds. I find them painful and I can't keep them in my ears to save my life.

Earbuds. I have a nice pair of Ultimate Ears and they come with 3 sizes of changeable earpieces. I need the smallest, Emily, so I get your point.

over the ear closed back headphones with leather cups, not foam. i don't want any other outside sounds to come through. i was using a set of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones then had some wiring problems til the right ear finally had no sound. today i'm using a set of Audio-Technica ATH-M40fs Studiophones and they are quite nice. after the sennheiser's (over priced in my opinion), Roger McGuinn recommended i try the Audio-Technica's and so far so good. thanks Roger.

Headphones. I have Bose and I love them, I can't use anything else. I'm too spoiled.

Depends on whether I am stationary or moving around. I like my sennheiser 'phones, and my V moda earphones. The V modas are the only ones I have found that stay in my ears, nor do they cause any discomfort. I have very small ear canals and one is straight, so it was hard to find a pair that worked for me.

Slightly off topic, but short of custom made ear plugs, I have found that World's Best work the best for me:

I can sleep in them without any discomfort, and they stay in all night.

I hear better with earbuds, but have the same pain problem with them as the rest of the Farmers. I finally found a good pair from Phillips, but still prefer headphones.
