Refugee 7 Report post Posted September 23, 2010 Stone Temple Pilots have shuffled around about a dozen dates so that the group -- which is more than a month into a tour -- can "take a short break," according to a statement posted on the band's website. Affected shows began with last night's scheduled show in El Paso, TX, and the band will be back on the road Oct. 8 in Tampa, FL. The updated itinerary is at right; all purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled concerts. Some of the shows on the original schedule -- including El Paso and Lubbock, TX; and Simpsonville, SC -- currently don't appear on the revamped itinerary. Word of the rerouting comes after troubled frontman Scott Weiland reportedly arrived extremely late for a show at the Houston-area's Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Sunday night (9/22), and appeared a bit out of sorts. "He seemed off mentally, a little too meandering and talkative, bringing up his own past drug and alcohol abuse," Houston Press reviewer Craig Hlavaty wrote. "At one point he did claim that he traded the hard stuff for boozing. "We can't say what was the exact story Sunday night, other than yes, he did seem a tad touched. This did nothing to alter his performance, though, with his trademark jigging and juking remaining intact throughout the night." Weiland recently announced that his autobiography, which is tentatively due out in March of 2011, will be titled "Not Dead & Not For Sale." He also is working on a Christmas covers album, the release date for which hasn't been announced.
