wild1forever 152 Report post Posted April 30, 2010 Aside from baseball players, not that many for me. The most famous baseball players I've spoken with are Tim Lincecum and Barry Zito. Amylou and Sharon, I am very impressed that both of you have met a president!
Refugee 7 Report post Posted April 30, 2010 Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Steve Ferrone and Ron Blair. John Travolta, Clint Eastwood, Taylor Hawkins, Lucinda Williams, Bjorn Borg, Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington, Chi Chi Rodriquez, Lee Trevino, Raymond Floyd, Freddy "Boom Boom" Couples, etc... I've been very fortunate to meet some very famous and not so famous actors/actresses, musicians and sport figures. But for me, it was meeting Arnold Palmer. A lovely, generous and very kind man. surfnburn 5 Report post Posted April 30, 2010 Darryl Strawberry, via phone. He was staying at the hotel where I was working as a PBX operator. In person, John Flansburgh of They Might Be Giants. (nowhere near as cool as Paul McCartney!) Same here. I worked as a PBX operator and talked to all sorts of people who called the Record Plant in Sausalito. I suppose Grace Slick and Michael Jackson are the most well known. Does anyone know who Wavy Gravy is? lol He used to call someone at our service. Of course, I've talked to Mike Campbell and Ron Blair briefly... I took a photo of Steve and Gina...lol

DCAHNM 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2010 ^ I worked at the old PTL place. I was too late for Jim and Tammy Bakker, lol. The only other famous people who stayed at the hotel while I worked there were the 1997 Pittsburgh Steelers and Terry Bradshaw. They were in town for a Panthers game. There's been so many but I would have to say, President Gerald Ford. Gerald Ford is my favorite president. You were so fortunate to meet him!
kelly 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2010 I think famousness is vey relative. I've never spoken to a president, closest would probably be Geraldine Ferraro. Daivd Duchovny and Chris Carter (both from X-Files) are the people who I got the most excited about meeting.
jawallac 48 Report post Posted April 30, 2010 Working at eomega.org for two years, I talked with or met so many different people. Some highlights -- Babatunde Olantunji, Jimmie Dale Gilmore (and wife), Galway Kinnell, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Sharon Olds, Jennifer Louden, Alex & Alison Grey.... My interaction with them was very limited, usually assisting them as needed during their stay on the campus.
