Refugee 7 Report post Posted April 7, 2010 The Black Crowes will spend the spring and early summer visiting theaters and festivals throughout the US as the band continues supporting last summer's "Before the Frost ... Until the Freeze." Later this month, the blues-rock act will kick off the road trip with two Southern dates: April 23 at New Orleans' Jazz & Heritage Festival and April 24 in Cottonwood, AL. The outing, which currently consists of 14 nationwide appearances, concludes July 25 in Louisville, KY. The full schedule is shown at right. The Black Crowes--currently made up of brothers Rich Robinson (guitar) and Chris Robinson (vocals), along with longtime drummer Steve Gorman, Sven Pipien (bass) and more recent additions Adam MacDougall (keyboards) and Luther Dickinson (guitar)--unveiled the two-part "Before the Frost ... Until the Freeze" in September. Fans who purchase "Frost ..." receive a download code for a free companion live album, "... Until the Freeze," which packages eight new cuts with a cover of Stephen Stills' "So Many Times." "Before the Frost ...," recorded in front of an intimate audience over five nights at Levon Helm's Barn in Woodstock, NY, follows the band's 2008 release, "Warpaint," the group's first album of new material in seven years. "I think we fulfilled a musical commitment to continue on the golden road of artistic independence," the group's frontman, Chris Robinson, said in a press statement. "Approaching 20 years into our careers, we still are ambitious enough to push ourselves to create something unique that we have never done before."
