Bryan Adams pushes solo outing into summer

Singer/songwriter Bryan Adams has again added more shows to his in-progress solo-acoustic trek behind 2008's "11."

The veteran rocker, who kicked off the three-month outing last month, continues tonight (3/23) with a performance in Allentown, PA. Since last check, 11 concerts have been added to the itinerary, which now runs through a June 15 show in Frederick, MD. The updated schedule is shown at right.

The Canadian artist's aptly titled 11th studio set initially hit shelves exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club retailers in 2008. Adams followed the album's arrival with an "11 Days, 11 Cities" acoustic tour of Europe, as well as a late-year solo-acoustic run of the US and additional acoustic dates early last year.

"Whenever I wanted, I always had a band to fall back on," Adams told LiveDaily in an interview last spring. "But in this case, it's really different. It's gonna be all acoustic--just me and my guitar and my harmonica. That's something I had never done before."

Adams' previous studio album, "Room Service," was released in the US in 2005 and marked his first set of new music in almost seven years, with the exception of the 2002 Grammy-winning film soundtrack for "Spirit," which the singer/songwriter composed and performed in English and French.

Adams, one of the most popular artists in Canadian music history, broke through to mainstream success with 1983's "Cuts Like a Knife," which spawned hits in "Straight from the Heart" and "This Time," along with the title track. His subsequent album, "Reckless," rose to the top of The Billboard 200 and included the hit singles "Run to You" and "Summer of '69."

I saw him on his swing through Seattle on this tour. If you get a chance to see him you should jump at it because it is a great show. Bryan has long been one of my favorite artists!

Just ignore that performance at the Opening Ceremonies for the Olympics! ;)
