nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) Playing live tonight is Roger Daltrey opening for Eric Clapton at the Sprint Center in KC. got a call from my brother that is there and couldn't hear shit. had to hang up. he just called at intermission from a bathroom and said Roger sounded great, way better than the Superbowl and had a band of younger kids/people. he had to piss and leave fast, cuz Eric is starting in 15 minutes ( his fav). he'll call back later and let me know how it went. just thought you'd like to know. nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted March 4, 2010 brother just called and said it was fantastic. eric came out with his strat and did all kinds of shit. from solo, to cream, dominoes and whatever. after an electric set, the lights went down and eric did an acoustic set. the lights came back and there was more electric. he played 2 hours himself and then came back for an encore, only 1 song, "crossroads". KansasPettyFan 1 Report post Posted March 6, 2010 We went and enjoyed it. Roger was fantastic! Was it the original Who? Of course not, but it was fun to see him and he sounded great. He had the crowd all up in it! Also loved Pete's brother Stewart. Little disappointed that Clapton did not say one word to the crowd. That just bugs me but that is my 'Midwestern why-can't-everyone-just-be-polite' thing I have going on. lol He played for 1:40 minutes. Layla was acoustic. Would've loved to hear the rockin' version of that. Got to hear my favorite though...Badge! It was great! Glad we went. Here are the setlists: ERIC CLAPTON SET LIST Going Down Slow, Key to the Highway, Tell the Truth, Old Love, I Shot the Sheriff, Driftin’ Blues, Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out, Running on Faith, Layla, I’ve Got a Rock ’n’ Roll Heart, Badge, Little Queen of Spades, Before You Accuse Me, Wonderful Tonight, Cocaine, Crossroads. ROGER DALTREY SET LIST I Can See for Miles, The Real Me, Behind Blue Eyes, Days of Light, Freedom Ride, Gimme a Stone, Who Are You, Going Mobile, Young Man Blues, Baba O’Riley. Magnolia 171 Report post Posted March 6, 2010 ^ Oh Tee, I know what you mean. They gotta give a little shout-out to the audience!!! That's just not right. Sounds like a kick-ass set list, though! Glad you enjoyed the show!
Refugee 7 Report post Posted March 6, 2010 If Roger was solo, why didn't he just sing HIS solo songs, he has so many good ones.
