I watched Kid's programming once in awhile, especially if there was a Warner Bros cartoon segment.

What I loved was getting the muppet puppets. I think we had a Grover and Cookie Monster. I stretched out metal clothes hangers and attached them to the puppet's 'wrists' so I could manipulate the arms like they did on tv!

No, I am a little older than that...I watched Captain Kangeroo. :)

Me too! And Romper Room (maybe that was a local show, I don't know).

I watched lots of SS with my kids, though. I actually taped it for Benji, so he could watch it when he wanted.

When I was pregnant with Nicky, the only time I could nap (I was exhaused!) was from 11:30-12:30 when Ben would be glued to the TV, watching SS. He would sit next to the couch where I had my snooze.

FYI: I can no longer call my kids Benji and Nicky. :085:

I watched it in the late '70s and early '80s. I liked Guy Smiley and that piano guy. Grover and Cookie Monster rule!

Now Sesame Street has become the Elmo show. I don't let my kids watch it, even if they wanted to.

I barely remember Captain Kangaroo. All I recall is a bunch of ping pong balls.

^ Yes, my sisters and I watched "The Captain" and Romper Room. I loved how Miss Nancy (or was it Patty?) cut those sandwiches into little triangles. LOL

My kids watched Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers every day. I watched with them, of course, and I loved both shows. I'd still watch if I could get away with it. LOL

Beam, I loved Mr. Hooper, too. : (

I loved the old Capt Kangaroo set, one of my first disappointments with 'modernization' was when they updated it. It looked 'dumbed down' to me, even as a preschooler. I loved Bun E Rabbit and missed Tom Terrific from the first shows.

If I watched anything at that time, it was Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. I remember hearing Big Bird once and that was it for me. Damn yellow thing with feathers, what an annoying voice! Ack!

When my girls were small, they didn't like Sesame Street either. Lauren loved watching Nick Jr. and Lindsay loved Barney.

^ Oh yeah, I loved Bun E Rabbit, too. Wasn't there something to do with ping pong balls when he was around? Like they fell from the ceiling or something like that?

The ping pong balls was Mr Moose and his knock knock jokes. Bun was always swiping carrots. Neither would probably fly today.
