Refugee 7 Report post Posted October 29, 2009 The 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concerts kick off Thursday at New York City's Madison Square Garden, where fans will be treated performances from the likes of past Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees as Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and Stevie Wonder. The concerts take place over a two day span in celebration of the establishment of the nonprofit Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, which was founded in 1983 to "to recognize the contributions of those who have had a significant impact on the evolution, development and perpetuation of rock and roll," according to the foundation. The concerts aim to deliver the history of rock and roll. Proceeds from the shows will benefit the creation of a permanent endowment for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and Museum. New Hall of Fame inductees of Metallica - inducted this year - will also perform Friday night. Rock & Roll fans aren't the only ones benefiting from this event, though. Performers will be treated to some special swag fit only for a Rock Star. The goodies include Guitar Hero 5, a T-Mobile MyTouch phone, rock-star worthy Cult of Individuality men's designer jeans and Anoname women's designer jeans, AMC movie passes for a year, Marchon sunglasses, a Schott NYC motorcycle jacket (think Ramones) and Logitech in-ear monitors... and the list goes on. It pays to be a rock star!
