Echosoftom 3 Report post Posted October 25, 2009 1. Do you ever find yourself singing advertising jingles? - YES! My sister and I do it all the time. We love all those old jingles. Just yesterday we were singing the Budwiser beer song. "When you say Budwiser, you've said it all". We're subject to break out into song anywhere. Our kids have learned to live with it, lol. 2. What are some of your favorite jingles? - Gosh, there's so many. I remember Barry Manilow wrote some great ones back in the day. He started out writing jingles for commercials The MacDonalds jingles were always great. He wrote a few of those. 3. Which jingles do you just hate to hear? - Not so much jingles, but I'm sick of hearing all these old classic rock and R&B songs on commercials. These ad people today are lazy. They just keep using the same crap over and over. 4. Why do you think jingles are so effective? - Because if you like the jingle, you'll remember it when you get to the store. It's a great brainwashing technique. 5. Are jingles going the way of the dinosaur? Or, do you think we will still be singing them for the next few years? - I don't hear too many right now. I keep hoping they make a comeback. 6. Take this quiz - What's Your Karaoke Theme Song? Your Karaoke Theme Song is "Margaritaville" :003: You are a true party animal, but your style is mild and chill. Kicking back with a few friends and a few drinks is all you need to be happy. You certainly don't feel pressured to be a part of any party scene. In fact, you avoid trendier spots. You've been known to kick loose anywhere and everywhere. All you need is a cooler. You might also sing: "Gin and Juice," "Love Shack," and "Red Red Wine" Stay away from people who sing: "Wind Beneath My Wings"
weird monkey 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2009 1. Do you ever find yourself singing advertising jingles? no 2. What are some of your favorite jingles? can't think of any 3. Which jingles do you just hate to hear? there was one recently, but I can't think of it just now. everyone hated it. 4. Why do you think jingles are so effective? repetition 5. Are jingles going the way of the dinosaur? Or, do you think we will still be singing them for the next few years? We don't hear them much anymore, because advertisers don't want to pay someone to write them. It's cheaper to buy a piece of a song, and if it's a familiar tune, there's the double bonus of playing off people's sentimentality. I figured out when people my age were beginning to call the shots in advertising when I heard The Buzzcocks in an AARP ad. 6. Take this quiz - What's Your Karaoke Theme Song? Your Karaoke Theme Song is "Baby Got Back" You're a total show off who is willing to risk looking like a fool to get a few laughs. In fact, you'll go for the cheap laugh if you need to... because it's better than no reaction! Your friends can count on you to get a party started, and you'll party hard until you can't remember their names. You're charismatic, charming, and a total character. With or without a few drinks in you. You might also sing: "I Touch Myself," "Oops I Did it Again," or "My Humps" Stay away from people who sing: "Candle in the Wind" :003: Oh yeah, that's me all over! :005: After the first question (answer: 'a strong drink'), those questions were tough, I just couldn't relate. Refugee 7 Report post Posted October 25, 2009 1. Do you ever find yourself singing advertising jingles? - Every now and then I do. They don't have clever ones like they use to back in the day. 2. What are some of your favorite jingles? - My faves are all older. McDonalds, Jack in the Box, Dr. Pepper, Oscar Mayer Bologna, Armour Hotdogs, Enjoli and Windsong perfume, so many others. 3. Which jingles do you just hate to hear? - The Geico one with the googly eyes. Ugh!!! 4. Why do you think jingles are so effective? - Because they become an earworm and when you think of the song, you think of the product being promoted. Especially if the jingle is catchy. 5. Are jingles going the way of the dinosaur? Or, do you think we will still be singing them for the next few years? - They will be around. 6. Take this quiz - What's Your Karaoke Theme Song?
