Pawie 6 Report post Posted August 30, 2009 1. Where does your patience suffer the most? When I have to deal with rude, ignorant, persistent people. 2. How long will you wait in a check out line before walking away? Very long. Per Murhy's Law - if you change line your old line will go faster. 3. What is your limit for phone hold times? 20 minutes. 4. If they took the same amount of time and got you to the exact same place, would you rather take a congested highway or slow, winding back roads? I would go the slow and winding road, playing Beatles ;-) 5. Have you ever been rude to a fellow customer or a store employee because you've had to wait in line? Have you been the recipient of such behavior? How do you handle it? I can't recall ever have done that. It's not their fault. I can get irritated if the chashier and the customer before me chit chats personal matters while I am waiting, especially if I am in a hurry. That's rude. If people rip into me when it happens I either just hold my piece or tell them what I think at the time.... 6. Take this quiz - Are You Impatient? surfnburn 5 Report post Posted August 30, 2009 2. How long will you wait in a check out line before walking away? I remember learning about this in business school. There's an equation to figure out a company's lost profit from a customer's wait. A business loses money if a customer leaves. You have to balance it against staffing cost associated with shorter wait times. I'm pretty patient because I'm busy thinking about this when I'm waiting in line...lol 3. What is your limit for phone hold times? I'm usually too busy to wait. If I have the time and I need to talk to someone, I'll hang on the phone while I'm doing other things around the house. I've waited 30-45 minutes on a tech support call.

Refugee 7 Report post Posted August 30, 2009 1. Where does your patience suffer the most? - Lately? Just about everything. Mostly with the human race. I don't handle people who irritate me very well, and especially those with one track minds. 2. How long will you wait in a check out line before walking away? - Depends on my mood and if I have somewhere to be. 3. What is your limit for phone hold times? - About 20 minutes 4. If they took the same amount of time and got you to the exact same place, would you rather take a congested highway or slow, winding back roads? - Just stay where I am, the congested highway, I mean what's the purpose of a slow, winding back road? If it doesn't get you to where you are going faster, why bother? 5. Have you ever been rude to a fellow customer or a store employee because you've had to wait in line? Have you been the recipient of such behavior? How do you handle it? - Yes, on both counts. If the person in front of me is not ready at the cash register, then step out of line and do the rest of us a favor and let us move forward and get the hell out of the store. Yes, working in retail, I do deal with those who, like me, are short tempered and can't wait. Some days it makes me laugh, other days, I say my peace, and that usually ends that problem, real fast. I can be a real bitch, but I do smile while being one. 6. Take this quiz - Are You Impatient? - You Are Patient Enough In most cases, you are patient enough to keep it together. You may feel impatient on the inside, but you don't usually let it show. However, if you're made to wait for too long, you will usually crack. You're only human, after all.
