Patty Petty 9 Report post Posted May 10, 2011 TIL (well actually over the weekend I learned), that KK Downing has "retired" and will not be joining Judas Priest on the rest of their farewell tour. I'm just absolutely stunned! I don't think I want to even go now and get tickets once they announce dates for the US. I am big time bummed!
emmie 2 Report post Posted May 10, 2011 Today I learned that not only have we got coyotes in the woods behind us but also a black bear was sighted this morning - Yikes! We go in the woods all the time walking our dogs.
NightDriver 208 Report post Posted May 10, 2011 Today I learned Lucinda Williams lived in my neighborhood back in themid 70s. I knew she was in Houston, but not Montrose. TIL Montrose is not only a band Sammy Hagar played in...

emmie 2 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 ^ I know! Earlier on as well a big fat roly poly racoon was lolling about in our garden as well. What next?
emmie 2 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 So the black bear that is in the woods must be female because now 2 cubs have been sighted. Anyone would think I lived in Algonquin Park.
Magnolia 171 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 ^ Oh my gosh, amazing! How adorable, but scary too!!!
AngelDream 16 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 ^^ Don't get too close to those cubs, Emmie, mama bear will be angry....be careful! TIL that a old friend of ours has ruined his life. He used to work with hubby at the lumber mill for 25 years...he lived with his mom and dad and drove 30 miles one way to work and back. Well, couple of days ago he got pulled over for a tail light out and they found drugs (meth) in his truck and on his person. He had it made before all the drugs.....he had money cuz his mom would only give him $100 a week out of his check and put the rest back...he had a beautiful home with 45 or so acres around it since his dad had passed away and his mom is in a nursing home. This is his 2nd offense, he was in a halfway house and worked during the day and went back to the halfway house at night....we all thought he was off the drugs and he might have been, but having it on him is what got him this time... I figure all the money he had saved all those years ago went for drugs in the last few years. It's just so sad and stupid for someone to mess up their life this way...he's 52 and they said he probably won't ever get out of prison.
DCAHNM 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2011 ^ That is sad. On a much more shallow note, TIL Clinique has products for rosacea.
Magnolia 171 Report post Posted May 13, 2011 Emily, what products does Clinique have for rosacea? I need that.
DCAHNM 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2011 They have a "redness solution" kit which includes a cleaner, moisturizer and base. I just got it yesterday, so I don't know how well it works. All I know is that it can't hurt.
WildflowerNJ 136 Report post Posted May 13, 2011 Ohhh, I think I will be needing something for my red spots, too...I keep saying I will see the dermatologist but it is just not the major concern now. Today I learned (this early morning, in fact!) that one of my foster elephants from the nursery in Nairobi is headed down to Ithumba!! This is Olare second step at being wild!! I am so excited for her and all of them
Patty Petty 9 Report post Posted May 13, 2011 TIL Ashton Kutcher is replacing Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men. Chuck Lorre stated that they have already written the story line to introduce his character. I'm anxious to see how it will play out. I have always liked Ashton Kutcher. I hope it's a success for him.

I hope it's a success for him. I loved Two and a Half Men with Charlie Sheen. Now that he went off the deep end I figured the show was a goner. I'm intrigued by the addition of Ashton Kutcher! I think this could be a "winning" idea. Wonder how they're gonna write him in? Looking forward to finding out.
