WildflowerNJ 136 Report post Posted April 25, 2011 That will be fun, Nancy!....it might seem like a long way off but it will be here before you know it. I am going away next April, too (lots of time to plan)...but I know where my passport is
Patty Petty 9 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 Very nice, Nancy! You have a nice Mom! :-) TIL the puppies were worn out from their walk today because of the warm temps. I told them wait'll their outer coats fully grow in, lol!
weird monkey 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 Today I learned that it is virtually impossible to buy anything actually made in Canada. Everything is imported from China and shoddily made. TIL that a coal hod I have is made in Canada, and it's not that old. But you are right about nearly everything being made in China.

AndreaM 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 TIL Dad's a complete looney. Our lawn's a mess. Today, he gave Hubby $50 to buy fertilizer and dandelion killer. The UNEMPLOYED neighbor across the street has a lovely lawn, but he obviously has all day to spend on it. Hubby and I went out for my belated birthday dinner, and some shopping, after giving Dad his 4:30 insulin. We got home after 9 p.m., and Hubby gave Dad his 10:30 shot a little early, 'cause we were going to bed. Dad can't climb the stairs to our bedroom; no reason to, but he does, screaming he wants his $50 back, because we didn't get the damn fertilizer. We went to the restaurant first, and brought home food; it was in the trunk. Even if this was a s*** run, which it was NOT, I wouldn't've put it in the car with the food! And Hubby had told him we went out for my birthday! Dad tried to HIT Hubby!:119:

emmie 2 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 Today I learned that even after 2 weeks vacation, our receptionist STILL won't answer the damn phones.
DCAHNM 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 ^Do we work with the same person? lol
emmie 2 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 ^ My God she is awful. Is it not the main function of a receptionist to answer the phones and greet visitors? Makes me so angry.
DCAHNM 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 There is only two of us here at the office (3 including the boss). I just think it would be nice every once in a while if she would answer the phone a few times and if you think if she hears the doorbell (which buzzes everytime the door opens/closes) multiple times within a few minutes, you think she would get up to help me? It's hit or miss. Man, we need a Wednesday gripe thread tomorrow.
emmie 2 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 ^ Definitely, I have multiple gripes right now.

weird monkey 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 TIL Dad thinks The Donald would shake things up. UGH! I am very sorry to hear that. I despair sometimes, I really do. Both parties have some very intelligent people, but they continue to trot out attention whores who have no business running for office.

Magnolia 171 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 I despair sometimes, I really do. Both parties have some very intelligent people, but they continue to trot out attention whores who have no business running for office. They DO??? Who are the intelligent ones? I'd love to see at least one. Especially here in California. I didn't think there was ANYONE who could be worse than our old governor - but alas, there IS!!! :100:
weird monkey 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 There are Barb, I swear!, but maybe they are too smart to become elected politicians. The powers that be pick who they think are willing to benefit them most, and we are then presented with our 'choices' to vote for. When the choice is the lesser of 2 evils ideologically speaking, we all lose. Sadly, too many people these days would also vote for Adolf if it meant 'beating' the other party. Nobody knows better than me how badly the system is broken here in CA. My state representative is in Visalia, 300 miles away. If I lived one block south, my representative would be 60 miles away. The form I filled out and sent out to her 3 weeks ago (the only way to make contact), regarding an ongoing issue with the state health department, has yet to receive a response. She has no field office or field reps out here, unlike her counterpart only 60 miles away. :085:
