Steven Tyler and Clarence Clemons, both of whom have recently written books, will appear together May 28 at BookExpo America as part of the event's opening-night keynote festivities.

The Aerosmith frontman and E Street Band saxophonist will christen the BEA's new Author Stage, which will feature groupings of authors who will be interviewed by journalists or other authors on the main-stage that is being built on the showroom floor, according to a press release.

Tyler and Clemons will be interviewed by New York Times bestselling author Chuck Klosterman, who is a featured columnist for Esquire, a contributor to The New York Times Magazine, and has also written for Spin, The Washington Post and ESPN; the award-winning author's books include "Downtown Owl," "Killing Yourself to Live," "Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs," and "Fargo Rock City."

Tyler's book, "Does The Noise In My Head Bother You?," traces his youth in the Bronx, his early music career and influences, his partnership with Joe Perry, the meteoric rise, fall and rise of Aerosmith, his epic romantic life and his relationship with his four children, who include actresses Liv and Mia Tyler.

The book, which also explores Tyler's life on the road and the economics of the rock-star business, is described by BEA organizers as having all the sex, drugs and rock and roll a reader could ask for. In a comment about the book, Tyler said, "This is not just my take, this is the unbridled truth, the in-your-face, up-close and prodigious tale of Steven Tyler straight from the horse's lips."

Clemons' book, "Big Man," reveals the inside story of his life before, during and beyond the E Street Band. It features never-before-told stories of adventures with Bruce Springsteen and an incredible cast of other famous characters recounted by the sax man and his friend, television writer/producer Don Reo, who co-authored book. The stories in the book are described by the BEA as legendary tales from backstage, inside the limo, the jet and hotel suites that even the most dedicated Springsteen fan has never heard before and a few "they couldn't even imagine."

BookExpo America, billed as the largest book-publishing event in North America, will take place May 28-31 at Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. The Opening Night Keynote festivities, featuring the inaugural Author Stage interviews with Tyler and Clemons, is an open event that is free to all BEA attendees.
