Refugee 7 Report post Posted April 25, 2009 Rockers Fleetwood Mac have scrapped a show in North Carolina due to scheduling conflicts. The band was due to play at the Greensboro Coliseum on Sunday, but the concert has now been canceled. Ticketholders have been advised to contact their point of sale for a refund. Marion 1,411 Report post Posted April 26, 2009 You gotta wonder how ticket sales are going. I don't know how the attendance in Tampa was but I passed on them because their tickets were way too expensive. Sorry, but these days I'm not willing to fork out $400 for an evening out. Just out of curiosity, I pulled up the Atlanta concert to see what kind of tickets I could get and I brought up row F in section 102 which is an excellent seat just to the right of the stage. Hummmm. That says a lot.
Starfish 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2009 I have a friend who saw them recently and said the show was pretty disappointing - lots of issues with tempo. She said a few times it was almost like they weren't all playing the same song, and commented that maybe they hadn't bothered rehearsing.
weird monkey 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2009 My first thought was lagging ticket sales when I read the article. "Scheduling conflict" just doesn't fly when it's a tour - which indicates it was planned many many months or even years in advance. People just can't fork out so much money these days without a second thought. There may be an exception here or there, but I don't think I'll be going to any large concerts this year. Maybe not even Bob. I was burned out already last year even before the economy went south, from Ticketmaster-type shenanigans.

Tara 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 I enjoyed seeing them in Toronto this year, I thought they put on a very good show. But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if ticket sales are lagging on account of them being so pricey!

wild1forever 152 Report post Posted April 29, 2009 I got this email today. The tickets are on sale 2 for 1!! I think that says a lot about what is going on. 2 for 1 tickets?! Wow, that is amazing. On the other hand, doesn't Fleetwood Mac's management read the papers? Who is able and willing to spend this much money for a night out in this day and age? Athena 7 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 I have been seeing a lot of 2 for 1's lately, as well as cancelled shows. The biggest was almost half price for Van Morrison at the Greek in Berkeley. With the ticket prices in the 100 - 350 range it's no wonder. I hope that happens with his LA shows. I would really like to go.
