Home theater. It's a bit of stretch, but I guess if there's a tv attached, it's a home theater. I don't like the receiver though; it's got a digital readout instead of buttons, sliders, and switches, so it's hit and miss getting the speakers to sound their best. The speakers are nothing special compared to a serious setup.

Usually I just use my headphones, a serviceable set of Sennheisers, or Vmoda earphones when I'm active.

i said home stereo that is also connected to the tv, but i also like my pc speakers (klipsch) and my latest set of headphones that i bought a couple years ago and then found out roger mcguinn uses the same make and model at his home studio! and they are only about $70!! i've had many brands over the years that cost a lot more, like sunnheiser and many others only to blow the speakers or diaphrams. so far these audio-technica model ATH-M40fs closed back headphones handle all the power i can put to then and sound great. if you're looking for new over the ear headphones, check them out.

Thanks Nurky!

Those are nice looking 'muffs. I just checked Amazon and their Shhhh!-secret price is $59.95. I'll keep them in mind when I'm in the market for new ones. I'm pretty sure my Sennheisers are the cheapest they make, and they're nothing like those. I'd like a pair of the cover the ear type.

My turntable is an Audio Technica, and I'm impressed by how sturdy it is (even though I wish I still had my Pioneer from 1979).
