^ Oh no Nel, I'm SO sorry to hear that. :085:

I certainly intend to keep my current career, but it remains to be seen if it will be outsourced out of existence. I am hoping, though, that even if I cannot do technical writing, I can switch to another type of writing.

Definitely, yes. Nursing for the most part is one of those recession proof careers. I'm very fortunate to have chosen this as my profession. Now, I might change the type of nursing I'm doing but I will certainly retire doing some form of nursing.

I don't know. I started in the music business when I was 18 and truly never thought I'd still be here 23 years later, so my inclination would be to say yes....but the entire industry is still on the brink of utter failure, so who knows what will happen by the time I retire. I hope something changes sooner than later. I envy people like Echosoftom ^ who went into nursing. If I could rewind time, I'd go into medicine.

Oh to Echo and agirl, Barf Boy started his nursing career in Jan. He loves it. He's a night nurse on the Med-surg floor at a hospital in Austin. Geez, the man comes home with stories to tell....... ick!

I hope to change careers.

I answered yes only because I don't think I'll ever retire. Need to work until age 71 in order to get full Social Secuity benefits. I started working full time at age 18, and I have 40 more years to go!
