How good are you with the hair clippers/scissors? If you had to cut someone else’s hair, could you?

I went to cosmetology school and I did do hair for a short while. So, I could do it in a pinch... IF I had the proper scissors (which I no longer have). One thing we learned in school... NEVER cut hair with kitchen scissors, LOL.

I used to cut my kid's hair when they were really little, but those were buzz cuts. Otherwise I have no experience or skill with scissors!

I trim my own bangs and give Griffin his haircuts. With Grif his head is a bit misshapen & nobody sees the back so I can take a few liberties with it.

I've been known to trim my own bangs in the past, but only in a pinch. (I used sewing scissors, Patty. A bit better than kitchen shears, but probably not much, lol.) I'd never try anything beyond that, that's for sure!!

I cut my ex's hair for years. He never was particular about it, and I did cut my own for years too. It looked weird anyway. My kids though, refused to come near me with scissors in hand once they were old enough to realize what I had in mind. It turned out expensive.

Now - I relax in my hairdresser's chair whenever there is a need :003:

I used to buzz cut my sons' hair, and I still cut my husband's hair. I hate doing it and don't think I'm good at it, but he doesn't like going to the barber shop and never complains about the results... well, except that time I forgot to put the guard on and pretty much shaved a stripe into his head, LOL.

I always thought I was clueless about cutting hair...until my older son screamed every time we took him to get a haircut, and I had no choice but to learn (while making it into an elaborate, crazy game :095:). I cut his hair for about three years, and actually got reasonably good at it. Thankfully, that's all in the past now.

I can cut my own bangs, but I've never attempted to give anyone a haircut. My mother's a hairdresser, so she does our hair. Quite nicely too.

I could never cut someone's hair, and no one would want me to. I do trim my bangs from time to time. Luckily, asymmetrical bangs are acceptable these days.
