Echosoftom 3 Report post Posted February 12, 2009 The long term affects of both mens contributions are still influential in present society. But, I chose Darwin because I felt his contributions impacted mankind and continue to do so. His teachings are still being studied and debated today. Pettyjunkie 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2009 I said Darwin because he has had an impact on the whole world where as Abe only on our country. Both have made huge impacts though.
LizzieB 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2009 I said Darwin, only because his impact was and still is worldwide. But honestly, if Abraham Lincoln had not held the US together after the Civil War, I wonder what kind of world we would be living in today.

Dynabeat Tim 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2009 Darwin.....he's a international personality, and his findings or opinions impacted mankind, whereas I believe Lincoln's impact was more national, 'cept if you look upon what would've happened had the US became 2 country's. There may had been more strife, or less strife, possibly Germany would've won WW1 or WW2, or maybe there would've never been a WW2 had they won WW 1 so who knows. It boggles the mind. What would've happened if after the Civil War all slaves were returned to Africa ( as some wanted ) ?

Beamish 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2009 (edited) Have to agree that Darwin's influence is greater world-wide, although I'm sure a lot of people in this country may feel that Lincoln's influence impacts them more on a practical level.
