angelic_22 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 (edited) 1. What do you do for a living? Electrical Engineering. 2. Would you characterize yourself as a hard worker? At times - I try to be a smart worker, and be highly effective. Always preferred working smart to working hard if I could find a way. 3. If you have ever had someone work for you as a subordinate or have lead a project, do you think you were a good boss? Why or why not? Yes and I think I did OK considering I had no formal training in managing people. I think I was a good boss and Thad seemed to be happy. 4. If you could have any job in the world, what would it be? Why? I think I would like to teach science or mathematics to at risk kids. I know I could make it a hell of a lot of fun and capture the kids interest and get them involved. Im not sure the school is ready for a crazy teacher like me though LOL! 5. What job do you think most prepared you for the working world? I have not had a whole bunch of jobs (Been at the same place since graduation in 1984) but prior to that, I would say that being a TA at a local college's electronics lab when I was a senior in High School probably gave me the best preparation. My boss was a no nonsense kinda guy (lowered the boom on me once for screwing off), and there was all that bullshit politics in the department, and I had to interact with all kinds of students who were trying to solve all kinds of different problems. It was weird though - I had to sign a Loyalty Oath to the USA to be on the payroll at the local community college. That was something right out of the 50's. Would you characterize yourself as a hard worker? I can be a very dedicated, hard working employee or student. I can also be a total slug, especially when the work I need to do is housework. 3. If you could have any job in the world, what would it be? Why? I'm going to school for massage therapy, so I'd obviously like to be a massage therapist. My goal is to work in a hospice or hospital setting. 5. What job do you think most prepared you for the working world? In high school, I was a lifeguard and I worked in a convenience store. Neither job prepared me for the "real" world to any great degree, although working in the convenience store did teach me to deal with some very diverse personalities.
