So, tell us, did/do you have a job as a teenager? What did/do you do? And was/is it a local business or were/are you a member of the faceless masses in a huge company like McDonalds?

I did theater. I worked back stage and acted. In the summer time Music Circus came to town and I worked the concession stands.

I did baby sit....and I was also taking care of my Mom....I would clean house and get meals ready. My Dad was still working at this time and I know things were hectic for him....

My first job was at McDonalds. haha!

As a teenager, I was a lifeguard during the summer and I worked at Village Pantry (a convenience store) year round. Back then they actually had us working solo, so at the age of 16 I was working the 4-11 shift all alone. The thought gives me chills now! Luckily my store was right next door to a fire station. The fire fighters were always coming over for coffee so I felt pretty safe.

I put in my years at McDonalds...and we were held to much higher customer service than I see nowadays.

I used to babysit.

I cleaned hotel rooms on the weekends and summers. I also worked in my school concession stand during athletic events.

I know, Nancy! It was crazy when you think about it now! I used to work at a flower/gift shop alone a couple nights a week. I think the place closed at 8 or 9.. but still! What were they thinking? :eek:

Thank God nothing ever happened.

I also worked in a bank, in bookkeeping, sorting and filming checks and getting statements ready and mailed out.

I babysat here and there, less as I got older.

Oh and I also worked at a K-Mart cashiering.

I worked as a secretary's assistant for an oil company during summers. It was great fun.

Summers I worked as a lifeguard, and the rest of the year I worked

as a hostess at a local truck stop/cafe. It was a BLAST! I loved

both jobs.

I had lots of jobs. I babysat all the kids in the neighborhood; I took care of horses one summer; and I worked in my dad's office; (I learned how to print photos there. It was great!)

I babysat, which I hated. Didn't like small people then, lol.

I also took care of people's pets when they went on vacation and such. Loved that job.

My first "real" job, bagging groceries at VAFB's Commissary. Worked my ass off for tips. Fun job though, lol.

I had lots of jobs as a teenager..babysitting, helping out at a hair salon, working in department stores, waitressing, working in a bake shop. I wasn't afraid of work.

I've always had some sort of job, it seems! I used to do yard work, make posters for local events and even do laundry for some cash as a kid. I started my first real job on my 16th birthday at Dairy Queen and I was a very diligent worker til CurmudgeonDoug appeared on the scene three months later!

When I was too young for a "real" job (age 14 or 15), I sold flowers on holidays and actually made a ton of money doing that. My first real job was working at the concession stand at a movie theatre.

I was a teenage model for an art class when I was 18. I also worked in bands playing high school dances and parties. I also sold Kirby vacum cleaners door to door !! ( or tried to sell I should say ), I also worked at a Tree Nursery.

I don't have time for a job, if I did I'd get one. Sometimes I babysit though.

I started babysitting when I was 11, helped my brother with his massive paper route when I was 16, then worked full-time my senior year at our vocational school's afterschool/evening childcare program.
