Refugee 7 Report post Posted September 23, 2008 CLEVELAND, September 22 (UPI) -- Metallica, Run-DMC and the Stooges are among the acts nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year in Cleveland, it was announced. The other 2009 induction nominees are Jeff Beck, Chic, Wanda Jackson, Little Anthony and the Imperials, War and Bobby Womack. Five of the nine nominees are to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the institution said on its Web site. Inductees are to be announced in January and will be officially enshrined into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the 24th annual Induction Ceremony April 4 at Cleveland's Public Hall. But oh yeah, Chic deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Give me a break. The Stooges are certainly worthy, can't argue with that one. Guess that means I'm getting old! Would Run DMC be the first rap group inducted into the hall? They are certainly worthy, one of few rap groups that would be worthy of that honor. nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted September 23, 2008 this honor is getting about as dumb as awards shows!!! i can't even pick 5 winners out of the 9 nominated. i'll go with jeff beck, little anthony & the imperials, wanda jackson and bobby womack. if this kind of shit keeps up, i hope they do move the hall of fame to NYC, because it's becoming a disgrace to ohio. another mistake by the lake? maybe.
