Rolling Stones star Sir Mick Jagger has been advising European Union (E.U.) officials about the future of the digital music industry.

The legendary rocker joined bosses from record label EMI, electronics giant Apple and auction website eBay to meet with the E.U. Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes in Brussels, Belgium on Wednesday.

The group discussed the way download sites such as Apple's iTunes sell music online, and talked about ways to break down the barriers of internet retailing.

Jagger will help the E.U. heads put together a report on the subject and the paper is expected to be published in October.
