Refugee 7 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 Are you watching the Olympics? What event are you most drawn to? What event did you not even know was an event?
Echosoftom 3 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 I've been watching every night. I'm always drawn to the swimming events. I love it! I'm sure there's some new event that I don't know anything about.

agirl 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 I'm watching them constantly. Any of the swimming events are my favorite. I can't think of any that I didn't know about. I can think of some that they could remove.
Marion 1,411 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 I'm watching here and there. I like the swimming and have really been enjoying the beach volleyball. The synchronized diving was a snooze to me.

The Wild One, Forever 2 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 I've been watching just a little bit of the swimming and then my dad watches basketball and softball so some of that...I'm waiting for the running events to start. I was surprised to see shooting, and handball as Olympic events. I can't beleive they're taking out softball for the next summer olympics.
Desert*Rose 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 Heck yeah!!!! I love the men's swimming (so many cute ones...) I didn't know fencing was the sword fighting thing, I thought it was farmers putting up fences :icon_confused:
Magnolia 171 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 Yes, I love the swimming especially. And gymnastics of course. I don't think there are any summer events that I didn't know were even a sport, but occasionally that will happen with the Winter Olympics. Marion, I loved watching the synchronized diving. I did some diving myself when I was young and cannot even imagine how impossible that would be!
Refugee 7 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 I LOVE, LOVE the swimming events! Will watch track and field when that starts. I've been watching whatever I can. Not really surprised by any sport being there, but do question why they will be deleting women's softball and men's baseball in 2012. Why not leave out basketball and tennis then? I hate when pros play, takes the sport out of the game.
emmie 2 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 Not watching at all. No interest.
nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 we now use pro's because in the past the other countries did while we used amatuer collage kids. what's fair about that? now things are even and we kick ass.
Echosoftom 3 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 ^^ Barb, I loved the synchronized diving too! Some of those dives were incredible! It took me forever as a kid to learn how to just do regular diving. I can't even imagine twisting and turning while diving AND THEN having to synchronize it with someone else. Amazing!
Refugee 7 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 I still can't dive, lol. That alone makes me appreciate what those divers can do.
SingsInFrench 262 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 I haven't been watching. I don't know which events are on what channel when, or I might have watched some gymnastics or diving.
KansasPettyFan 1 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 We've had it on every evening. Love the swimming, diving, gymnastics. Michael Phelps is incredible. He's like a machine. Stud!!!! I didn't know table tennis was an Olympic sport. Isn't that ping pong? lol

Beamish 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 No TV here at home, and I sneak out when it's on at work. I like live sporting events, but can't get into televised ones.
poppiesgal 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 We've been watching bits and pieces before bedtime - mostly swimming. Got the largest charge out of the France talking smack and then losing to the US. :icon_thefinger: Also saw the US mens gymnastics team take silver - so proud of those guys (as I'm sure Paul Hamm is too - sure do miss his presence :085:). We will definitely tune in next week for the BMX competition - we know one of the US athletes ... show 'em how it's done, Kyle! :023:
