Refugee 7 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 Do you choose to tan? Or do you sit yourself in the shade, wearing a hat?

Mary Jane 49 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 May is cold, windy and rainy, until about the third week when the sun suddenly appears for one and a half weeks. Then there is what the English refer to as a 'heatwave' and we take our jumpers off.We also all fling ourselves outside and lie on the grass and complain about the heat if it goes above 20c
Starfish 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 The perfect question for me, just returned from a trip to the Caribbean I wear hats and loads of sunscreen and sit in the shade whenever possible, but I still end up a bit tan every summer. Drives me crazy. I'm doing my best to avoid the skin damage, but I love the sun.
Dynabeat Tim 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I tan when I work in the yard, but usually don't have the time to "tan" like the neighbor lady. (Oh la la !! ) LOL
PumpkinBumpkin 1 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I love the sun, but I couldn't get a tan if my life depended on it! :003:
Magnolia 171 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 ^ Welcome back, Nancy!! ^ LOL @ Tim! Swimming competitively and working as a lifeguard for years caused a bout of skin cancer, so now I'm all about the 85 SPF, hats, sunglasses and shade!!
The Wild One, Forever 2 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I love the sun and Im out in it all the time. I wear sunscreen though but it doesn't really help me from getting my funky runners tan.
jawallac 48 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I'm pale as a ghost. I don't avoid the sun, but also am not outside that much even in the summer.
Pettyjunkie 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I don't specifically go out in the sun if I have to. I'm a vampire! Although because of PE, my arms are like 4 shades darker than my legs.

wild1forever 152 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I'm notoriously bad about wearing sunscreen, so I usually end up with a tan. The only time I prefer shade is when it's horribly hot.
Nel 71 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I actually like basking in the sun. But, I can't because I have very fair skin. I burn, then bubble, then freckle.
kira 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 We live in the country and spend lots of time outside. I never lay out or anything like Tim's neighbor but I can't help but get some sun. I'm pretty tan by this time of year.

Refugee 7 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I am a vampire, so staying out the sun is a big thing for me, lol. Seriously, I avoid it as much as possible. I want my mom's skin! She didn't have a wrinkle. My mother in law was/is always in the sun and it shows, her skin looks like a leather saddle bag. Not attractive at all. Plus, my father in law died from skin cancer. Just call me Casper.
Yuppie 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I try to stay in the shade.
Beamish 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 Neither- I go in the sun when I need to and don't worry about it either way.
emmie 2 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I like the sun. I do both, I sit in the sun for a while and also do the shade thing. I just like to be outside after our brutally long winters.
