nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted October 27, 2011 We had a great time in KC and were always on the run. We had a birthday party for my great nephew's 1st birthday and then dinner at T-Rex at the "Legends" shopping mall. We did a tour of the Harley Davidson factory and saw how they stamp out the fenders and gas tanks, the painting process, assembling of the engines, bending the tubes for the frames, making the handle bars, final assembling line and how they test them before shipping them off for packing to ship to dealers. My bro and I went to see a friend that worked at Musicians Friend music shop, but has since quit and started his own music shop in KC, Mo. He's just getting started and didn't have any high end guitars in stock yet, so we didn't buy anything, but he's trying hard to get Rickenbacker to authorize him as a dealer. He's a huge Beatle and Tom Petty fan and even has an autographed picture of Tom hanging on the wall. He's currently in some sort of negotiating process with Mike Campbell to do a photo shoot of Mike and his guitars!! I told him to call me when he gets set up to go to Cali for the shoot and I'll go with him....lol. We went to Oklahoma Joes one night for BBQ and that's always great food, naturally I had the ribs! My bro and me met up with Tee and went to Wallaby's for lunch one day, we had hot wings and Tee got a cheeseburger that was huge. It was great meeting up with Tee again, talking about old times and new, thanks Tee for being there. I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of things, but I'd have to say the highlight of the trip was being with my daughter, it was her 1st trip flying (she didn't like flying), but I really enjoyed being with her and showing her some of the things that I've experienced over the years. I think now that she'll want to see more and hopefully someday we'll visit more locations, but she's gonna have to learn to pack more lightly, cuz dear old dad has to carry all those heavy bags!! Take the essentials and then buy what you need on the road!!!!! Well, that's it for now, have a great day everyone.

nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted October 27, 2011 (edited) ^ Sharon, we all know how important it is to meet up with all the people we know and that makes everything more fun. I look forward to every trip and run into someone, it just makes everything so much better. Edited October 27, 2011 by nurktwin

Beamish 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2011 The principal was overheard bragging to a crony that she spies on our classrooms with her iPad. I wish she'd spy on the bathrooms and alert our negligent custodian when we're out of t.p. (which is ALWAYS). How am I supposed to take these people seriously as supervisors? KansasPettyFan 1 Report post Posted October 28, 2011 Nice seeing you, Nurky! Oh, that burger was big and good and I ate it all. But I didn't have to cook dinner that night. lol

fansince82 1 Report post Posted October 28, 2011 "The Office" still makes me laugh. I was skeptical after Steve Carrell's departure. Still enjoying the chuckles....

wild1forever 152 Report post Posted October 28, 2011 How 'bout those Cardinals?!?!?! :003: It better not rain in St. Louis tonight, or I'll have to bring a radio to the concert tomorrow.
kelly 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2011 ^ Hoely Moley I absoultely love those Cardinals! I stayed up waaaaay too late last night watching that 11 inning game. I'm not really a baseball fan at all, but I love the world series and the excitement and hearing the crowd and the nail-biting tension of it all. I do have a question - why do people in the stands have little stuffed animals that look like squirrels?
AngelDream 16 Report post Posted October 28, 2011 Glad you had fun on your trip, Benny! Random thought: Gotta go buy another filing cabinet this evening. Moved the old one last night and it fell apart...after 22 years I guess it was bound to happen!
