    • Right below talent

Talent....you have to have that...but maybe today's music is different...

I am thinking about how I got so into Jackson. I had left to spend some time down in Mexico with a surfer boyfriend back in the 70's. He had this 8 track cassette...Jackson's Late For The Sky. I played that over and over and over!......so much so, he ended up trading it with a surfer from Australia for a surf shop tee shirt. I only knew the cover was Magritte-inspired with that Chevy parked in front of that LA mansion....the open window and streetlight. I came home and went to my local record store....there it was, Late For The Sky! I turned the album over...ahhhhhh......I knew Jackson was beautiful on the inside from hearing his music....he turned out to be beautiful on the outside as well but I had already fell in love with his songs.....

To me, extaordinary talent makes a person hot. I think Tom is a great example. If he was just a man on the street, I don't know that I'd look twice at him. He's not what most people would call conventionally good looking. But with that talent and charisma, he becomes the total, incredible package. Does that make sense?

Do you mean mass appeal success? I don't know. I'm tempted to say it matters a lot, but look at Alice Cooper and KISS. They're successful and they aren't exactly hotties...lol I think artistry is number one...but that's just me.

I agree with Barb that not so hot people become suddenly hot when you hear their music.

But I said looks right below talent. You don't have to be conventionally good looking, but a certain look does help. I mean, how many short, dumpy rock stars do you see out there?

I think Barb hit the nail on the head. I think your talent or how one perceives your talent makes one hot. I think Alice Cooper is hot, but then again I love Alice's music.

As for Ron Blair, well...he is hot and talented. :003:

I'd rather see a funny-looking person with talent get ahead than the uninspiring Pod People that seem to be on every magazine cover these days. Everyone has the same hair, the same neon teeth, the same bland features. Yawn...
