Refugee 7 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 Madonna's world tour to support her latest No. 1 album, "Hard Candy," will reach North American shores this fall. The recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee will launch her "Sticky & Sweet Tour" in late August with a month-long European jaunt, and then kick off the US/Canadian leg Oct. 3 in East Rutherford, NJ. Maddy's current schedule has her passing through 17 North American arenas and stadiums through late November, including a two-night stand at New York City's Madison Square Garden. Additional dates, including a run through Mexico and South America, will be announced later, according to a press release. North American shows are detailed below and overseas gigs can be found at Madonna's website. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning May 17, and there will be a four-ticket limit per person for arena performances and a six-ticket limit for stadium events. Members of Maddy's official fan club will get the first shot at tickets starting May 12, and Citi card members will have access beginning May 13. "Hard Candy," Madonna's 11th and final studio album for Warner Bros. Records, surfaced in late April and debuted at No. 1 in 27 countries, including the US, according to the superstar's reps. The lead single, "4 Minutes" featuring Justin Timberlake, is one of only two songs to reach the one-million mark in digital sales in a five-week period. The new set follows 2005's "Confessions on a Dance Floor," which has sold more than 8.5 million copies. Madonna's 2006 outing to support that album reached 1.3 million fans in 25 countries, and became the highest-grossing concert tour of all time by a female artist, according to a press release. Last year, the Grammy-winner made news when she signed an all-encompassing deal with promotions giant Live Nation, putting her many music-industry ventures under one umbrella.
