Hootie & The Blowfish come together for summer jaunt

Though three-quarters of Hootie & The Blowfish are currently working on solo projects, the bandmates will be back together this summer for a US tour.

The outing is set to launch June 26 in Biloxi, MS, and travel across the eastern half of the country through mid-August. Most of the shows are part of the band's "Homegrown Concert Series," during which supplies are collected for community schools. The itinerary is listed below.

Hootie & The Blowfish's most recent studio album is 2005's "Looking for Lucky," which spawned adult contemporary hits "Get Out of My Mind" and "One Love." The set, the band's first on its own Sneaky Long Records, was produced by Don Gehman, who also worked on Hootie's wildly successful 1994 debut, "Cracked Rear View."

In 2006, the Grammy-winning soft-rockers put out a live album/DVD package titled "Live in Charleston: The Homegrown Concert Event," which was recorded in Hootie's hometown of Charleston, SC. The set marked the group's first-ever live album release and its first live DVD in 11 years.

Meanwhile, the members of Hootie & The Blowfish are making headlines of their own with their solo projects. Guitarist Mark Bryan will play a few US show in June to support his sophomore release, "End of the Front," which surfaced in March. The album's lead single, "Fork in the Road," is also the closing-credit track for the Jim Kouf film of the same name, which is expected to hit theaters this year.

Singer Darius Rucker is also working on his second solo record, and this time he's going country. The performer's yet-to-be-named album is due this fall on the Capitol Nashville label and the lead single, "Don't Think I Don't Think About It," is already making waves on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. Rucker recently told the magazine he intends to build a career in country music, and he hopes to hit the road with his own band after the Hootie tour.

Meanwhile, drummer Jim "Soni" Sonefeld has teamed with indie label Aquarian Nation for his first solo album, "Snowman Melting," which is expected to drop this month.
