Refugee 7 Report post Posted May 1, 2008 Blues singer/giutarist Jonny Lang will continue to back his latest album, 2006's "Turn Around," during a massive spring and summer tour that kicks off this week. Lang is scheduled to shove off with a May 2 show in Memphis, and his itinerary (shown below) is packed tight through the end of August. Also planned is a mid-September, two-night stand in Milwaukee, and a mid-October two-night stand in Los Angeles. In all, Lang has about 50 shows lined up. The guitar prodigy, who rocketed to fame at the age of 16 with his 1997 album "Lie to Me," continues to support his fifth studio set, "Turn Around," which comprises gospel, country, funk, jazz and folk influences. The set chronicles Lang's spiritual transformation after dealing with the pressures of stardom. "It wasn't so long ago that I was spiraling downward in a lot of ways, until God touched my life and set me on the right track," Lang said in a statement. "I feel a huge debt to give glory back to Him for everything He has done for me. It's the least I can do." Lang co-wrote the 14 songs on "Turn Around" with collaborators including Grammy winners Drew Ramsey and Shannon Sanders, as well as five-time Grammy winner Steven Curtis Chapman. Guest appearances on the album include Michael McDonald, Sam Bush, Buddy Miller and Nickel Creek violinist Sara Watkins. Lang's work on "Turn Around" paid off in the form of a Grammy Award for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album.
