weird monkey 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2009 We had an infrequent visitor early this morning: Bobcats are always welcome at our house, as are Tomcats. Rawrrrr.
BrandyZep 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2009 ohhh very nice! i want one too!! hmmm i am getting a tax refund this year.....
BrandyZep 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2009 hee that last comment was about the guitar not the bobcat....ha ha that photo is probably as close as i want to get to a real bobcat! ha ha ha :-)
BrandyZep 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2009 that bobcat looks regular cat sized...bobcats are not mountain lion types? ok i think i need a kitty education...only wild animals around here are deer ha ha ha
weird monkey 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Despite it's serene look, that's about a 30 lb kitty. Mountain lions are 2 to 3 times bigger. Here are some better pictures of when it visited last Sept*: *we see its paw prints around, but have only seen it a couple times.
agirl 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Nurk, I love the guitars! Weird monkey, I love your bobcats pics. We used to have one that would come into our backyard and eat our cats food. It never bothered the cat, but I'd hear all this noise [the cat bowl being moved around] at night and peak out the window and there it was. Our cat would just ignore it. WildflowerNJ 136 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 WM, those bobcats are pretty. Cool they come so close to you.....I am waiting for our visitors now. We have a group of mallards that come about now and stay until the summer. Well, they land in the back pond and then walk up to the bird feeder in the back yard. I have this camera now I can take a pic as soon as they come... Also, that fountain is neat! Thanks for those.....
weird monkey 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 WildflowerNJ, are you a Soprano? Ducks are fun to watch, but there aren't a lot in the desert. Agirl, my friend who lives right up against the foothills of Joshua Tree Nat'l Park has a bobcat that comes and sits on his patio every day!
wild1forever 152 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 You otter be in pictures... Professional photographer Enrique Aguirre took this photo of an otter holding a video camera while on a tour of Elkhorn Slough. The otter, it is assumed, found the camera at the bottom of the ocean. Softanimal 7 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 :038: WOW. That is absolutely gorgeous! (No, I don't play but I love to listen... over the years I've learned a bit about guitars and have come to appreciate the sound and style of certain ones. That, my dear, is a treasure.) Thank you, and yes, it is indeed a treasure. Only problem is that it has started sounding a bit false, and I don't know anybody who knows how to tune it the right way ! :088:
Softanimal 7 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 By the way, cute animals ! The one with the otter is funny. Here is a view from London Eye when I was up in that carousel :
agirl 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 That otter picture is adorable. And Softanimal beautiful pic of London, but there is no way anyone would get me up in that carousel!!
WildflowerNJ 136 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 WM, a Soprano? Not sure what you mean by that but I have been known to sing a few high notes, lol! Ahhhh, the London Eye!! I can't wait to do that.....thanks for that pic, Softanimal...
weird monkey 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 Oh don't mind me, I was just stereotyping: (Tony Soprano and his ducks)
WildflowerNJ 136 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 LOL!! I am loving this little digital camera. Here is my Mikey....she is an indoor/outdoor cat...wears her bell and her break-away collar. But sometimes it gets too cold and she wants to come in and watch the birds from this window. It doesn't look so comfortable to me but she loves this spot....

WildflowerNJ 136 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 Just got back from a very cold walk on the beach. The waves were really kicking up and there were quite a few surfers braving the cold.... My feet (and fingers) were getting numb just standing out there. But die-hard surfers will not be denied.... Went up to the Boardwalk, too. Soon everything will be up and running again... I could have went for some of that coffee, lol...
Softanimal 7 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 Wauv!!! So much snow!!! The first picture totally looks like our West coast, a very popular place for Germans to spend their holidays.
