Saw three of these beautiful birds circling over today. They were diving for fish....they would fly back to their nests with their catches......

That is a GORgeous photo of an osprey!!!

A long time ago my husband and I went to Pawley's Island off the coast of South Carolina for a vacation with his family. He and his brother & dad would go out fishing in the surf and spend so much time trying so hard to catch something, when a majestic osprey would come cruising out from land, get out over the water, turn right & cruise a minute, drop into the water and come up with a large fish. Poor hubby and guys would go green with envy not only at what he caught but how quickly he caught it!

This little guy was hatched in a nest built within a wreath hanging on my sister's front door screen. They rarely use that entrance at their Colorado home (odd location on the house) so I guess the Momma knew it was safe. He sure looks comfy and warm!
