DCAHNM 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2011 ^ wii is very addictive, indeed. There's no telling how many hours I've wasted playing ski-jump and birdseye bullseye (aka "the flapping game") lol I must get these thank-you notes written and sent out. It has been almost a month. nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted February 18, 2011 done most everything. left the house 8am to TRY to make a deal on 2 new pc's. the one's i wanted are sold out and they claim they can't order anymore. other stores have the same pc for $100 more!!!! so i went to another store with paperwork in hand and tried their "match price policy". he said sure, no problem, do you have proof of their price, i said sure and handed the papers to him. then he said THEY have to have it in stock for me to get that price. i said they have 1, but the box is damaged and ripped open so i didn't take it. his next claim was he couldn't match the price, cuz there is 1 number different in the model #!!!!! even tho they are the same pc made by the same manufacturer, they give maybe model 1000 to best buy, 1001 to staples, 1002 to sam's club and so on, you get the idea. therefore, you can't get the price match from ANY store, cuz there is 1 number different in the "model number" even tho it is the same pc, by the same manufacturer!!!!! i told him that and he agreed. i told him that not only them, but even drug stores with these stupid rewards you get when you come back again are basically illegal and i'm going to check it out with the Ohio Attorney Generals office. enough is enough. after we talked a bit, he said he could give me a better pc with faster quad processor and more ram and more everything for that lower price and also knock off $100 on the pc i was going to get the WD. so, it worked out good, i now have 2 pc's sitting on the floor. i'll take my time getting them set up, i still have 2 pc's working!!! Glad you got your PCs, your persistence paid off. He could have made that offer in the first place though, after he saw your paperwork from the other store, instead of leading you off on a song and dance. Guess he finally figured out you'd walk out the door, if he couldn't match your price on the original machines. Me? I just need to get something done today. Seems like I have just been futzing around so far.
Pawie 6 Report post Posted February 19, 2011 Great job, Benny. Persistence paid off. Sometimes stores rather lose a customer than use their heads. I kept busy to relax for two days. It seems my head is finally cooling off. Too much going on........ too much stress..........

nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted February 19, 2011 guess what? i got sundays ads in todays paper and the pc i got the deal on is at another store for $40 less for presidents day!!!! i called staples and they will refund the difference if i show up there while they call the other store and make sure it's in stock and give me the $40. so i called office max to make sure it's in stock and they said they have 2, so i told them to save me 1 so that when i show up at staples they'll refund $40. office max said they can't save me 1, it's 1st come 1st serve. that means i have to go there in the morn and if they are sold out, i can't get the refund from staples. well, i'm not going to do it, the hassle and time is not worth $40 to me, especially when i have the 2 pc's i want sitting on my livingroom floor. but it's bullshit that these bastards get away with this stuff. it's time to step up to the plate and take a swing at these m/f's. i'm done with this purchase, but i'm NOT done with these stores and their policies!!!
