weird monkey 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2009 Thanks for the update, Ref - rofl #6 :044: My check engine light came on this afternoon. How did it know I have an oil change scheduled tomorrow? After I stopped by the mechanic's to let him know, then it reset itself I guess, because the light went out. I hope it stays off. [knocks wood]
Refugee 7 Report post Posted December 31, 2009 ^ Ack! My daughter's car was in the shop for the same reason. She just needed to replace her gas cap. WTF? Anyways, once she did that, the light turned off. I just need to keep it together tonight. Very emotional day for me. :085:

Marion 1,411 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 ^ My engine light just came on too. I hope my fix is that simple. I am happy to say I don't have to do anything today or tomorrow, just whatever I feel like doing. I think I'll sew for a while.

weird monkey 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 The mechanic ran a diagnostic anyway, and he thinks it was a stuck air intake valve. Not something to worry about unless the light comes on and stays on. I've also had the light come on because of a not-quite-tight-enough gas cap. The little line that attaches the cap to the car got caught underneath, so it didn't seal. They told me to make sure I tighten until it clicks a few times.
