What do you need to do today?

Recommended Posts

Go to Barnes and Noble and buy some Mad Libs, and whatever other little things I can find that would be good for someone who is traveling. A friend/co worker is moving to the Bay Area, Ca. in a couple of weeks and she will be driving cross country to get there.

Then get ready and go to another friend/co worker's house, where some of us will be giving her a little farewell party.

alter plan A. i asked the WD yesterday what we should eat today so i can get something out of the freezer and asked her if the daughter was coming for dinner. she said no, she can't come EVERY sunday, so i took out a boneless center cut english roast to make with potatoes, cuz the daughter won't eat any kind of meat except chicken. well, you guessed it, the daughter just called and said she was on her way to pick up my mom and come here for dinner, what am i cooking!! so now i have to get out a boneless, skinless chicken breast. no big deal, but you'd think that after all these years, i would know better than to ask the WD anything, let alone believe it!!

i just cleaned, cored and sliced a bunch of hungarian hot peppers. letting them sit in colanders now with a lot of salt to extract the water from the peppers and let the water drain off. after a few hours, i'll add olive oil to coat the peppers and let drain off some more. when i think they are ready, i'll add more salt, chopped garlic and Italian seasoning and let that set for a couple hours. then toss and taste, if they need anymore seasonings, i'll add them and let set again! when i finally get the taste i want, they can be canned for the winter or just put in a big container in the fridge to eat now. this small batch will go in the fridge and should last about a month, but i'll probably eat them all in a few days!!

I had to straighten out my passport situation, grrrrrrr. All this time I thought I should be getting it any day now... but no! I get a piece of mail yesterday from the passport folks, saying the picture I submitted (which was done at a US Post Office mind you!) was "overexposed!" So back down to the post office today I went. The same guy who did the picture and all my paperwork was disgusted that they sent it back. He said someone up there must have been having a bad day! I agree! So, he took a couple more pictures for me, wrote my name and date of birth on the back of the pic like they said I had to do and mailed it off right then and there. I sincerely hope they get on the horn and I get this passport back pretty quickly. I am planning to go to St. Croix in November.

Well, don't know how long ago you got yours, but it doesn't take that long now.

No matter though, because apparently I don't even need a passport to travel to the US Virgin Islands. Only need a photo ID and birth certificate. So, even if it doesn't come in by the time I leave, it's not a big deal.
