Kid Rock signed autographs for charity in a Waffle House restaurant on Tuesday - to make amends for a fight he was allegedly involved in at one of the chain's eateries last year.

The star, real name Robert Ritchie, and five members of his entourage were arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery after an October 2007 brawl in a Duluth, Georgia Waffle House.

A not guilty plea was entered on Kid Rock's behalf in a DeKalb County State Court last week.

And, on Tuesday, the musician was keen to get some good out of the incident by greeting fans and signing autographs at a Waffle House fundraiser for local homeless shelter charity Nicholas House.

During his visit to a Waffle House in Atlanta, Georgia, Kid Rock admitted he was embarrassed by the brawl.

He said, "The whole situation before was kind of silly. We just thought after that unfortunate incident we'd try to do something silly but something more positive."
