WildflowerNJ 136 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 I think it is the friends (musicians) you get to meet on the road......to share the music with you....that must be a cool thing......
Flower 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 I think it's Creative expression . Wouldnt it be so cool to write a song? That didnt suck. When I was in the rock n roll hall of fame and seen Tom's hand writen Freefallin, it blew me away.
Starfish 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 I'd go with creative expression, too. It doesn't seen to me that a lot of famous people really enjoy being famous.

Nel 71 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 I don't think any rock star, including Tom, would stay in music if they weren't making a lot of money.
kira 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 I'm going with creative expression too. I'm thinking when their time belongs to them, they have more of a freedom to create on their schedule. That said, I also think the are hurried with the business of music. A touring musician friend once said, "I play for free. I'm paid to travel from place to place so I can play." Refugee 7 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 You're all wrong, it's the groupies, LOL!
Athena 7 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 ^ My first selfish thought was that too But I picked High Paying Gigs. That way you make enought that you don't have to always be on the road. You can spend more time creating, being with your family, and enjoying life. I completely understand Tom's desire not to tour so much.
Ladywiz 4 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 Imagine being paid to do what you love! In so many jobs there is NO room for creative expression, or even having your own opinions...
emmie 2 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 I would say all of the above!
LizzieB 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 ^Yes, it's pretty hard to choose one, Emmie. I said creative expression. Last night at the Foo Fighters concert, I told Kay, "I want to be Dave Grohl". I would love to be able to create music and entertain people by touring it.
agirl 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 Creative expression. Of course all those other things are part of the mix.
nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 i did't choose yet, this is harder than i thought. i'm trying to look at it from a rich rock stars eyes. fame will get you groupies (so #1 & 5 could be classified together) and lets face it, groupies can be scary. they burned tom's house, killed john lennon and stabbed george harrison! so #'s 1 and 5 are out. parties? well we all have them, but no one famous comes to them. #4, out. high pay? if you are famous and rich, you don't need high pay, #2 out. touring? it's alot of hard work, but that's where the money is most of the time. stars do it, but i don't think they love it like we think they do, #6 out. lastly, creative. i think they enjoy this the most, because they can do anything they want until they get to the record company and they don't like it. that's why the beatles started apple and so many more groups started their own labels. they still have to go to the big companies to distribute the cd's, but they have some control over everything. finally, i'm gonna go vote for creativity. thanks for reading this long winded bs....lol. KansasPettyFan 1 Report post Posted January 23, 2008 I say creative expression. I see these musicians truly enjoying themselves and that is their job. I am envious. So I guess part of it is money too.
Doxiejoe 1 Report post Posted January 24, 2008 The money! The groupies are probably nice too, though.
