When choosing a restaurant to dine at, do you tend to look for a national chain? Or do you prefer the local one-of-a-kind place?

Local one every time. That Indian not far, a Japanese one at 30 mins or the village one is great. Go and come back on foot ... I love it!

Really depends on where I am. I would like to say one-of-a-kind but traveling so much, I have had a few too many mystery meals, especially in small towns where everything is fried. If I can get a good recommendation, I become more adventursome. Otherwise, get me to a chain that I know will be consistant.

I really try to avoid chains. We now live in the area of Houston that has all the really great locally owned restaurants and I love it.

i think the 1 of a kind restaurants are about the best, but being a picky eater, i tend to go to the the chain restaurants when i'm on the road where i know what the food is. but i found a new one this past weekend in long beach that had just the right meal for me. deep fried chicken at roscoe's!! it was great and i'll definitely go back. thanks to all the girls that suggested roscoe's and getting us there.

Definitely one of a kind. Roscoe's is a great example as is Pancho's in Manhattan Beach, CA. A big YUM for both of those.

Definitely locally owned whever possible. Like Kira said, though, if I'm

traveling I tend to go for a tried-and-true chain since I wouldn't know

anything about the local places.
