Refugee 7 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 Do you prefer paper or plastic bags at the grocery store? Why?
agirl 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 I like them both. What I need to do is buy the cloth ones.
Echosoftom 3 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 I usually use plastic only because it's easier to carry more than one in each hand.
Mary Jane 49 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 I never see any paper bags here so its always plastic , I have a couple of cloth bags but never remember to take them with me
WildflowerNJ 136 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 I have some cloths bags but I do reuse the plastic ones...and recycle...
Starfish 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 I think both types have their negative side, but I'm becoming very anti-plastic as a rule because it never, ever goes away. The cloth bags are the way to go but I am often guilty of leaving them in my trunk. Paper bags I can use for recycling newspapers. Sharon, one of the stores near us uses paper bags with handles - now that is brilliant. They feel stronger than the plastic bags and they're easy to carry as well. Dynabeat Tim 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 I hate when plastic get those little holes from some sharp object poking through and ya lift up the bag and everything tears......or one of the handles tear, or is missing......and isn't plastic partly a oil product ? I like that you can carry about 10 at a time.....but......I prefer paper. I reuse the plastic for trash bags in small cans, for carrying clothes in on vacation.....( my wife says use a bigger suitcase !). But they multiply quicker than rabbits..... Magnolia 171 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 ^ Where I shop most often, Trader Joe's, they have the paper bags with the handles, too. (recycled paper) I use them under the sink for the kitchen trash, and for all kinds of other things, too. Carrying things to work with me or whatever. I love those bags. Refugee 7 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 I prefer paper. We use both where I work and I can't stand the plastic bags! Nothing ever stays upright in them.

Marleen 2 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 Paper bags. Some stores here have jokes on them or sometimes artwork... but usually I go shopping with my usual bag gear that are plastic with wowen fibres in them and last forever all of them with large handles ... Doxiejoe 1 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 Paper, the ones with handles, preferably.
KansasPettyFan 1 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 Either one. I try to remember to take the plastic ones back and they'll give you 5 cents off of your bill for each one you bring in and reuse. Remembering...that is another thing. lol
