Have you looked into an extended stay hotels?  Also might want to check air b n b stuff, might be some cheap clean accommodations options that do not show up otherwise if you look there.  Best of luck and will be thinking of you!   Maybe you can crash at the R&R Hall of Fame! :D

Drove to Clev yesterday morn for 1st day of treatments. Radiation went fast, about 10-15 minutes and turned out quite well for 1st dose. After that was blood tests and chemo. Full chemo with additives before and after took about 7 hours while I sat in lounge chair and watched TV. That too went flawlessly and I felt great by the time it was over. They claim chemo and Radiation will get worse and take its toll starting about 1-2 weeks into treatments. While there, we received a message that out apartment at "Hope Lodge" was approved and ready. We stopped after the clinic to sign the paperwork and received our keys to the apartment. We will drive back to Cleve today for Radiation at 9am and then go to "Hope Lodge" and move in with clothes and food for the week. Come home on weekends and return weekly for the last 5-6 weeks. We got apartment # 110 in the back of the 1st floor and it overlooks the back garden with fountains and a round gazebo. The Cleveland Orchestra often sends musicians to Hope Lodge to entertain guests about once a week. And 2 weeks ago a donor donated a charted bus and luxury suite to all the guests to a Cleveland Indians game!!!! The lodge has a library, dining room, kitchens, lounge spaces, wi-fi and seperate computer spaces with CPU's. What's not there is only 1 or 2 blocks away and easy to walk to or take free shuttle buses. I'll be taking shuttle bus to the hospital for treatments about 1-2 miles away. That's about it for now. If I don't see you online from Clev, I'll be back Fri or Sat from home. Take care..................Nurk.

Home for the weekend. Got home yesterday (Friday) and will be here until sometime Sunday. Still looking for a ride back to Cleveland!!!!!! That's the part that sucks, I hate bothering people for a ride back and forth, but I do want to come home for a couple days on weekends. I spent the morning picking tomatoes and hot peppers in the garden and making a big 8 pound beef roast in the oven. Beef is 1/2 done and I sliced it thin for dinner or sandwiches. Beef is covered with broth and ready to go back in oven to finish cooking, along with quartered potatoes. That should take about 1 to 1 1/2 hours, then it's time to eat (what I can)!!! I'll be hanging around for another 24 hours or so, so I'll see ya soon. Take care.......Nurk.

BTW...............8 pounds of beef plus potatoes, salad, hot peppers, dinner rolls and more and family can't make it for dinner!!!!! They aren't feeling well. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by!

Good luck. I'm not aware of the costs but maybe if you can afford it, see if you could cut a deal with a driving service, uber or something since you'll be going back and forth all month and maybe get some kind of discount since you'd use them during the next three weeks.

Good thing you're not having to go back and forth in the winter.

Hope you enjoy your mighty big supper.

cheers

^  Good idea, I never considered Uber or any of those services. I do thank God that this is not happening in the winter, about 10 miles north of me is the snow belt and it's not a pretty sight during winter. I'm feeling really great now, but Dr's say I'll start feeling the effects of chemo and radiation about 2-3 weeks into treatments. We'll see, week 2 starts Monday. I'll be fine, see ya later...........Benny or is that Nurk?

Yeah, I have it into a USB 3 port and using software that came with blu-ray player. PC recognizes the player. I took the player out and will return it tomorrow before I go to Cleveland. I'll have to try something different next weekend.

maybe the firmware or drivers are out of date? maybe try looking for updates?

very glad to hear that you are still feeling well and that you are halfway there!! :D Stay strong!
