Your Honour: 2 pieces of evidence to back this theory linking (a) Bruce Palmer, bassist from Buffalo Springfield & (b) Dancing Bear.

  • 1997 Tom Petty gives brief speech, then at 1:20 members of Buffalo Springfield (except Neil Young) are graciously accepting their R&R Hall of Fame trophies. Tom passes Dancing Bear a trophy.

Thank you. I wouldn't recognize anyone from the Buffalo Springfield except Neil Young and Stephen Stills (and now Dancing Bear, as he shall be called henceforth ).

Is this going to be on Netflix or cable at some point soon?

I hope so! It's coming within an hour and a half from me this weekend, but I can't find a way to get over there to see it (I don't feel comfortable going alone). 😭

I was in Nashville two days ago for the Jeff Lynne's ELO concert and totally would have gone to see it then, but it only just arrived there today! 😫

Yeah, I don't know that I need to own this, but I do want to see it.  There have been a number of documentaries or short features about "the canyon" over the years, and they all pretty much tell the same stories.  This one has Tom narrating quite a bit, apparently.  It also doesn't have much of the original music from the time, but instead Jacob Dylan and company playing the songs.  That doesn't have a huge appeal for me.

GREAT NEWS!!!  I read yesterday that this is coming to Netflix (in the US at least) Oct 21st!!!   I never got around to seeing it or ordering it so I am quite excited to be able to check it out for free.  I guess its in some of the Redbox machines but I haven't seen it locally there when I looked so YMMV.  A nice little slightly belated B-day gift for/from Tom!  💘
