I've been nearsighted since my teens. I use to wear glasses and then contacts until I started having problems with the saline solutions. Now I'm becoming a little farsighted and need reading glasses.

This is actually funny, I am near-sighted in one eye and far-sighted in the other. I have progressive lenses glasses and I am supposed to wear them all the time. I didn't know I was haveing trouble before I got them, I just thought I couldn't see because I was tired all the time. No, just blind. LOL

Legally blind without contacts or glasses. (20/400 and 20/425...YIKES!) Although this last pair of glasses, I paid extra and got the super thin lenses. Otherwise, they would be pop bottles. lol

I have one contact for distance and one contact for reading. I can read better without anything in or on my eyes.

I started wearing glasses about 15 years ago. I need them for watching TV, driving, etc. On the other hand, I can't read with my glasses on.

Oh my vision is very bad. I've had to wear glasses since the age of 11. Without glasses I can only clearly see about 30 feet in front of me, after that it's a blur. And actually if things are more than about 10 feet away I can't read anything that may be written - ie a sign post or building number.

Yeah...I have to wear glasses or contacts... My vision has Picasso/impressionist effect without them...lol... And that's not a good thing when you need to drive down a street..lol

I used to have 20/200 vision (near-sighted). One day, Geno looked over at me reading the paper -- I had my glasses on the tip of my nose and the paper up to my face -- and asked me if I wanted LASIK for my birthday. Needless to say, I almost fell out of the jeep and went to my opthamologist and sure enough I was a candidate. I now have vision of 20/20 in my left eye and 20/25 in the right.

I wore glasses for 40 years before this procedure. I'm still amazed! If anyone needs any info, let me know.

I'm with Yuppie. I have one eye that is farsighted and the other nearsighted, lol. I also wear progressive bifocals. In fact, I need to see the eye doctor next month. Boooo.

Extremely near-sighted starting when I was around 30. Contacts mostly and glasses.

When I was 30 I was still working at my radio station and shortly after I walked in one day and was down the hallway I turned around and dropped to my knees after seeing the station cat at the other end. I started going ... "c'mere c'mere sweetie... come to me baby"... at which point my friend walked forward and said "Do you really think if you call to your shoulder bag, it'll COME to you? I don't think it will even if you call it sweetie." I had dropped my bag down on the floor after I came into the hallway. But from a distance it looked like the cat. Both grey.

A week later I got contact lenses.

I have a cornea transplant - the donor was a guy and I'm not - so all you adorable Farmers look much better out of my left eye than my right.

Hahaha, DH, I know this only too well. I am extremely near-sighted too since... I can´t remember... I´m nearly blind. And it´s getting worse. :icon_scared: I can´t sit in front of the computer without wearing glasses or contact lenses. People who have a good vision should appreciate it very much. It´s really intricate and annoying to have a bad vision. The first time I tried to put my lenses on, it took me hours and it was so unpleasant. I still have problems with it.

Anyway I´ve seen strange things without wearing glasses/lenses too and it´s kinda funny and cool sometimes. I remember I was out with my friends and suddenly I thought all the boys looked great. I´d seen many famous people too, lol!
