RestlessSoul 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2014 I was hoping someone could help me find a version of "I won't back down" that the crowd sings the first verse and a half totally on their own. Heard it on the radio and that is was just incredible.. but can not find anywhere. Thank you.

Liberty 191 Report post Posted April 27, 2014 I like this [from The Live Anthology] better than the original studio version: I think he was inspired by Johnny Cash's cover, because he liked it so much. I wish I could help you find the song. I found a free torrent download of it, but I cannot access it because my Sprint internet blocks access to Bittorrent, etc whether file is legal or not. I've been meaning to find a way around it, but been busy lately. You can probably find the CD too. Good luck!
Ben 68 Report post Posted June 10, 2014 I saw Tom perform the slow version of "I Won't Back Down" in 1997 at the Fillmore. It may have been Rick Rubin's idea. Regardless, it really works in the slower arrangement. Cash's cover is great.
Ben 68 Report post Posted June 22, 2014 Looks like the acoustic version of "I Won't Back Down"--like that of "Learning To Fly"--dates back to the Bridge Benefit of 1994:
Ben 68 Report post Posted July 5, 2014 Another acoustic version, from the 2000 Bridge Benefit:
