kelly 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2013 I'm still driving my 2001 Chevy Cavalier - it was the one and only car I ever bought new. I think about getting a new car (I would get a Cadillac CTS coupe) but then I think about how nice it is to NOT have a car payment. So my hooptie keeps on rolling. nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted October 16, 2013 I just went this morning to look at a Mercedes-Benz and I love it. It's red with black interior. I've been checking things like insurance costs and loan rates and other things since I got home. With a loan rate of 1.99%, I've decided to just pay cash and be done with it, IF I buy it. I'll try to show you a pix, let me know what you think!!

nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 Yikes, we're playing a game now. Wednesday night the dealer said $36,100 out the door and I said I'll think about it. Yesterday morn (Thursday) they called and asked if I was going to take that deal. I said NO, but I'll give you $35,000 cash in $100 bills right now. He said, "let me check with the boss and call you back in 20 minutes", and he called back in 15 minutes. His boss said I could have it for $35,400 and I said NO, my price is 35K and that's final. So we are $400 apart, not a lot of money for a dealer to bend. I'm going to sit around the house today and see if they call back with my deal, if not, I'll move on. Just wanted you all to know where this all stands at this point. If the situation changes, I'll let you know.
