nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted September 30, 2013 We had a great time yesterday and talked about everything from the past to the present. We even talked about the future and get together's we'd like to have, not only with our own families, but with our "Mudcrutch Farm" family as well during dinner. BTW, we started dinner with hot peppers fried in olive oil and garlic with fresh baked hot bread and then salad. Then we moved on to grilled pork chops smothered in sweet red and green bell peppers with potatoes and angel hair pasta in sauce. We have some things in mind that we will talk over with Marion and then bring to you for your thoughts and hopefully move on from there. We've had so much fun in the past, why not keep it going in the future? We don't need a concert to get together! We can do anything, so stay tuned. As always, our time together went way too fast and it was time to say goodbye and go home. That's the hard part of any trip or meeting and I hate that. But, I thank Ryan for coming all this way to visit. He's a special man that I'll always respect and meet anywhere and anytime. We are friends now and forever. Thanks Ryan!! Magnolia 171 Report post Posted October 1, 2013 Oh Ryan and Benny, sounds like a lovely time you two had! It's always so much fun to get together with fellow Farmers, no matter when or where. Hoping for many more meet-ups in the future!

nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted October 1, 2013 YES, a Farm meet would be great and is a must. We need to meet somewhere for a long weekend or even a week, a few hours is not long enough. We'll be thinking of cities to put on a list to bring here and get your ideas. We have already thought of most anywhere in Florida, Las Vegas, NYC, the Cleveland R&R Hall of Fame and even Summerfest in Milwaukee. We'll keep thinking over the next few months and come up with something. We can even plan a winter trip if we go somewhere warm in the south. Hey, lets rent an island for a month!!!!!!!! Stay tuned for further developments!
SingsInFrench 262 Report post Posted October 2, 2013 Summerfest would work great for me!
Magnolia 171 Report post Posted October 2, 2013 Summerfest would most likely work for me, too. My now-Wisconsin-based son could come with me! 2 trips in 1!
Amber 70 Report post Posted October 2, 2013 If you want to meet on an island......we have Jekyll Island nearby me with beaches and a lot of hotels. I could check on rates if you like. It is a very quiet beach with a lot of bike trails. May not have enough touristy places, but they have great conference-type places. It would be less expensive than some places, especially in the winter.
TomFest 576 Report post Posted October 2, 2013 How about L.A. for a Mudcrutch show? I still haven't seen them. :-(
nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted October 2, 2013 We thought about LA and it's always in the running, but we'll have to make plans for when our band IS NOT playing. If they tour, people will be wanting to attend their shows and then can't afford a Farm Vacation!! That's the reason we haven't had a get together the past few years. TPATH or Mudcrutch or some sort of combination of the band is always playing somewhere and that's a good thing, but not for a Farm reunion. That's why we'll take our time and see what happens, all we can do at this point is try to decide on a location. The date depends on if the band will be playing on tour, and we never know that until it's too late (thanks Tony). As you see, it's not easy planning anything 6 months or a year ahead of time, because we are at the mercy of a possible tour!

Marion 1,411 Report post Posted October 3, 2013 I'm so happy to hear you had a good visit! That's great! You guys plan a gathering and no matter where it is and I will come if I can! I would love that! Remember the last time we planned to go to Cleveland to visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the band announced a tour and we had to cancel everything. I've always wanted to visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame so maybe that's still a good idea.
Amber 70 Report post Posted October 3, 2013 I have always wanted to visit the HOF too. I learned a long time ago that you can never plan anything that isn't inconvenient for someone. If it is at all possible, I will be there regardless of where it is.
