Upcoming Shows?

Recommended Posts

Somewhere on facebook, I read about a December show, maybe 12/15? Anyone here have any info about that? I think I could make a December show!

I think you are thinking of the Merry Minstrel show. I think they were going to do another show like last year. I thought I saw something about it too but now I can't find it.

MERRY MINSTREL MUSICAL CIRCUS v1.0

Jonathan Wilson is proud to announce the first annual Merry Minstrel Musical Circus, A Holiday Gathering and Goodwill Jamathon benefit concert. This year, Jonathan has teamed up with Mike Campbell to create a special evening of music amongst friends at the famed Troubadour in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 20. Confirmed guests include Bob Weir, Jackson Browne and Benmont Tench. All proceeds from the benefit concert will go to Little Kids Rock and the Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund.

Conceived as an event to allow for unique collaboration and interplay amongst friends, Jonathan and Mike have invited a very special group of musical guests to participate, many of which will be announced over the next several weeks leading up to the event. The original idea for the event’s format arose from the weekly jam sessions that Wilson used to host at his former studio in Laurel Canyon.

Jonathan met Mike this summer while he and his band were supporting Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers on their European tour. The two began discussing playing together earlier this fall and when Wilson proposed the idea of Mike being involved with a holiday jam benefit concert, the two began exploring the concept and inviting friends to be involved.

The Merry Minstrel Musical Circus is an All Ages event. Tickets go on sale Friday, November 30 via the Troubadour website http://ticketf.ly/QHHyek.

I read this on Rock the Dogs facebook page. I don't know if it was taken down, though, because I can't find it anymore. But this is what it said:

It's time for the 3rd Annual Clubhouse Dinner with Mike Campbell! This year will be auction style! The winner will be allowed to bring two guests with them over the age of 18 years old. They will also attend with there two guests as Mike's VIP guests at a show with Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs at a to be announced event!! All travel expenses will be at the cost of the winning bidder! The Clubhouse Dinner Will Take Place, January 24th 2014 and the Dirty Knobs event Saturday January 25th, 2014! Come on all you guitar players this is a chance to have a one-on-one guitar lesson with Mike Campbell in the private rehearsal space of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers! Dinner will be served!! Oh and yes there will be some really super cool bloodhounds at the dinner!!! The auction will be announced in the next 7 to 10 days!

I'm hoping the 1/25 show will be open to the public, because I would love to go! Anyone know more about this show? Would 2 other people like to go in on my bid for the auction? Maybe if we split the cost 3 ways we could afford to bid! Just thinking...

I thought I saw that blurb earlier in the day but couldn't find it when I looked for it again last night. I don't really like auctions. I'd rather take my chances with a raffle so everyone has the same chance. I don't even mind paying my own travel expenses but I really don't care to battle it out in an auction. Nope, I don't like that at all.

That show is not open to the public and you need a special invitation. It's the Imperial Ballroom show sponsored by Duesenburg guitars.

^ They made money, but did not sell all of the tickets...which is a total surprise to me! I sent my order immediately last year since I fully expected them to sell out very quickly. It was not a great response for some reason. I would never have gotten a chance to meet Mike and visit the clubhouse had it not been a raffle. I cannot fork out thousands of dollars for an auction.

I would be willing to pay for travel and hotel for a chance to visit the clubhouse again, as I am sure other fans would also agree. Perhaps they will do a raffle again next year for clubhouse/dinner access only and allow the winner to bring one person.
