Mikeyt 136 Report post Posted April 30, 2013 Flugelhorn (unless it's electric).
Mikeyt 136 Report post Posted April 30, 2013 ps Susan - there was a harp, I believe, in the Eurythmics "Must Be An Angel" - and it was quite good.

somewheredowntheroad 20 Report post Posted May 1, 2013 The bullfrogs in the pond across the street from my house would make a great bass line - perfect rhythm and they seem to hold their notes equally apart. I am so glad I get to walk my dog at 5:30 am so I can really hear them. The frogs start before the birds. But I am not answering the question. I know. Sorry
Magnolia 171 Report post Posted May 2, 2013 Probably anything, used in a cool way, could be in a rock and roll recording. Heck, even a flute has been used in rock and roll, so the sky's the limit!
GoldenRose 18 Report post Posted May 2, 2013 I've never been keen on violins in rock (not string orchestrations, just solo violin or fiddle). But then again, The Electric Light Orchestra... Incidentally, somewheredowntheroad, with regard to your bullfrogs, how about Paul McCartney's 'We all Stand Together' aka the Frog Chorus!?
