Question of the day 4/14/13

Recommended Posts

Probably one of the earliest Beatles hits - "I Want To Hold Your Hand", or "I Saw Her Standing There". I've heard many music artists of the mid to late 60's that cite the Beatles as the reason they started playing.

I think I'd be looking to Chuck Berry and beyond.

This is what I was thinking. Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Buddy Holly, Elvis... some really early rock n roll.

Without them, we really wouldn't have The Stones, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, or any of those great bands.

"Rock Around the Clock," maybe? Or "That's All Right, Mama."

Yeah, there's Jumpin Jack Flash and Stairway to Heaven, and all of that, but I think you'd have to look back further than Zeppelin or Stones to get the most influential rock song.
